Winter Into Spring

Hey Toe,
I was just outside in the yard when what I hope is the last snow of the season started falling. I was monitoring our cat, who is now only partially an indoor creature, back by the scab of earth where my garden goes, when I started to hear the occasional soft percussive sound on the dead leaves. The cat sought shelter under a small pine in the back corner of our lot, but the sound and the wetness got to him eventually and he came in on his own.

It's a testament to my love of winter that even after all the snow we have had, I still feel a slight bit of excitement when it starts to come down. We have had so much snow here. Our ground was covered with snow from mid-January up until about 3 weeks ago. It snowed again last week but melted pretty quickly the day after. But now I need it to stop and I need it to warm up so I can start gardening again.

This morning's snow was more like ice pellets than the usual soft flakes. As I have typed, it has stopped.

Hope you are well and that school is keeping you pleasantly, rather than insanely, busy.

See you soon man.
